Lasting Blooms - Dried Hydrangeas #2
Part of my Hydrangea Collection, this photograph captures the transformation of our garden's white hydrangeas. As the petals dried and curled, they took on a sculptural yet delicate form. Arranged in a white vase, the petals seem to glow in the sunlight. The warm brownish tones (Lasting Blooms Version #1) play with light and shadow, revealing the texture and depth of each petal, while the black and white version (Version #2) distills the composition down to its essentials creating a simple, modern feel.
The beauty of these dried blooms lies in their lasting nature—organic, interesting and elegant—offering a moment to pause and appreciate how nature’s forms change, yet remain captivating, showing us that there is beauty in the aging process.
