Artist Statement
Nestled just outside of Queenstown, Moke Lake is a hidden gem surrounded by freshwater wetlands, farmland, and majestic mountains.
Facing away from the lake, I captured the early morning light casting a warm golden glow on the mountain ridges, in harmony with the vibrant hues of the autumn poplars. The cool, frosty blue-green grass of the farmland contrasted beautifully with the warm tones of the tussock and the sunlit farm tracks.
I felt an urge to follow the tracks and stand in the warmth, as my hands felt like ice after this sunrise adventure.
