Artist Statement
My friend Vick came to stay and brought lilies — she adores them and grows some herself. I loved watching the buds slowly unfurl, each bloom filling the room with its fragrance, a gentle reminder of her visit. I composed this photograph using a single stem arranged in a slender vase on a linen tablecloth. Pink Lilies in a Vase has a painterly quality that feels calm and natural, much like our friendship.
